This Privacy Policy applies to the Owl website (owlsmartring.com), the Owl app, and the Owl Silent Alarm Ring device. The Owl Silent Alarm Ring is a physical consumer electronics wearable device — a titanium ring — that pairs with the app over Bluetooth. It is not a software service or subscription.

If you choose to join our mailing list through the signup form on our website, we collect your email address. This is stored and managed through our email platform, Mailchimp, and used only to send you updates about Owl.

Our website may also use cookies and pixel-based tools to measure the performance of our marketing and understand aggregate visitor activity. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

The Owl app is designed to operate locally on your phone:

• No personal data. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information through the app.
• No account required. You do not need to register or log in to use the app.
• No analytics or tracking. We do not use third-party analytics services or advertising trackers inside the app.
• No data sale. Because we do not collect personal data through the app, we have nothing to sell or share with advertisers.

To provide core functionality, the app stores the following data strictly on your phone's local storage:

• Alarms and preferences you configure.
• Bluetooth connection status, used only to display your ring's pairing status and battery level within the app.

This data never leaves your phone. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, your saved alarms and preferences are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered by us, since we hold no copy of it.

The Owl Silent Alarm Ring stores the alarm and vibration settings synced from your paired phone, so your alarms continue to work even when your phone is out of range. This information lives on the ring itself and is cleared when you factory reset the ring or pair it with a new device.

The app requests the following device permissions, which you can review or revoke at any time in your phone's settings:

Our website is not intended for children under 13 (or the applicable local minimum age). The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The Owl Silent Alarm Ring is intended for general consumer use.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may request access, correction, or deletion of the limited information we hold from the website (such as your mailing list email). Because the app does not collect or store personal information on any server, there is no server-side data for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf — you're always in full control of the data on your own device, and can delete it at any time by removing alarms in-app or uninstalling the app.

We take reasonable steps to keep our website and mailing list systems secure. Because the app does not transmit personal data to us, there is no external account or server-side profile of you to protect there — your app data's security is governed by your own device's security settings (passcode, encryption, etc.).

If we ever change how the website or app handles data — for example, by introducing an optional cloud backup or companion feature — we will update this Policy and notify you through the website or an app update before the change takes effect.
